27 Lake Road is one of the best located self-catering holiday cottages of its size in Keswick and the North Lakes. It enjoys the benefits of being located in the centre of this bustling market town and yet is only minutes walk away from some of the finest scenery the Lake District National Park has to offer.
The cottage is directly opposite George Fisher Outdoor on the fringe of Keswick's pedestrianised Conservation Area. Keswick has an excellent range of shops too many to name but should you take a two minute walk to the Market Square you could call into the Norwegian Store for beautifully crafted Scandanavian knitwear. Grab a bite to eat at the Good Taste deli/cafe. Browse around Treeby & Boulton's Fine China & Contemporary Art Gallery. The Market Square is now only yards away with more shops and some great pubs for shopping weary males! The Moot Hall Tourist Information Centre is in the heart of the Market Square and is a mine of useful information.
If you felt like an evening stroll Derwentwater, Friars Crag and Borrowdale are within 5-10 minutes walk. On the way you'd pass Fitz Park's putting green and Keswick's Theatre by the Lake. Once at the boat landings you could take a launch around Derwentwater or hire a rowing boat or motor launch. If you sauntered on you would soon come to Friar's Crag with it's stunning views down Derwentwater into the Jaws of Borrowdale. Castle Crag takes centre stage with the Scafell Massif on the skyline, Walla & Falcon Crags to the east and Cat Bells and Causey Pike to the west.
