Getting to Keswick by Car
From the North/South leave the M6 at Jcn. 40 and take the A66 west to Keswick for 16 miles. Take the first exit for Keswick and keep left at the swept junction. Burnside B&B is on your RHS after 500m opposite the junction for Castlerigg Stone Circle.
For a scenic route from the south leave the M6 at Jcn. 36 and take the A591 via Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere. Follow the A591 for about 20 miles until you reach the traffic lights just south of Ambleside. Take the left hand fork passing The Waterfront Hotel on your right and follow this road through Ambleside turning left at the traffic lights where the one way system ends. Follow the A591 for about 15 miles until you start to descend into Keswick on Chesnut Hill. Look for a turning on your right marked M6, Penrith, Workington, etc. Turn right here and you will find Burnside B&B 30 metres on your left hand side.
If you are travelling after dark or in bad weather leaving the M6 at Jcn. 40 is the better option. The A591 occassionally floods just north of Dunmail Raise and the views aren't great in the dark!

Parking
Parking is by permit in Keswick's Central & Lakeside Car Park 1 & 5 minutes stroll from the cottage. Up to three 24 hour parking permits are provided in our tariff. Loading & unloading near the cottage is permitted on Borrowdale Road. Parking within the pedestrian area to the front of the cottage is not.
